1 John 2:16 (KJV) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
How we see this world has to change, based on how we see God, and our love for him. The devil has always used the above temptations, right from Eve and Adam, to Jesus and even us today. It is the packaging of the temptation that looks different, but the content is the same. If we understand how the world system has been designed to cause us to lust after it, we would be very careful. We are of course in this world, but our love must not be for things in it. We must use what we have and what we need, without craving for them. The worrying part with the temptation strategies the enemy uses, is that; we face it everyday. It would not stop so far as we are not dead. We would see things, we would have feelings and pride would want to control us. Self control is what we need to walk in this world and yet not love it. Self control is a fruit of the Spirit, so we need God to survive the daily battles.
May we get closer to God if we want to overcome. Have a great Monday.
